If I ask a coding agent to investigate a bug, I will generally ask it for a reproducible procedure a human could follow to replicate its findings. That's important. There are also some things that I consider very basic but that not everyone seems to know (or has not internalized).

this won't surprise you at all but a core literacy I try to impart is intermediate representations the more people have artifacts to show the intermediate steps between the inputs and the results, the more inspectable the process is, and the more tunable one-shooting is the root of all drama
