The ProjectNavigator SwiftUI package now supports subtree refreshes, in its latest version 1.9.0. At the core is a file tree navigator that can be used inside a NavigationSplitView. It supports macOS and iOS: https://github.com/mchakravarty/ProjectNavigator

Promising! If this is being distributed via App Store, is there viability for this working on iPadOS/iOS? I remember the Raskell app for iPhone. It would be nice to have a modern alternative, though I get this is not trivial.
