If you're attaching the clay to smooth plastic, to be *extra* safe, make sure you rough up a small portion (so it won't be seen once the clay is applied) of the plastic with a rough grit sandpaper before applying the epoxy.

Epoxy is what I was going to recommend. Strongest bond would likely be something like JB Weld (2 part epoxy, like ClearWeld) to BAKED/CURED clay (never bake an epoxy). Easiest to apply would probably be an Epoxy putty, maybe SteelStik or PlastidWeld).
