This whole AI chatbot thing could not come at a worse time in this country. People are absolutely DESKILLED at building meaningful relationships and every suggestion that "YES, you DO have to talk to your neighbors" is met with rage from some corner. But relationships ARE humans' CURRENCY. The End.

So I get why everyone is worked up about this, but it's probably smart not to provide a disinhibiting environment to people with abusive tendencies. I would want to see a study of this before being conclusive, but I would expect that "practice" abuse with a chatbot would spill over into real life.
