Ah, I don't work with so many databases. I have recently started also using the new scid 5.2 (not scidvspc which is different). It has a new native database format which handles very large pgn files better than chessbase or HCE. Very quick sourceforge.net/projects/scid/

I use this for manipulating very large pgns from Lichess (converting to scidv format first). And once I've filtered and trimmed, I re-export as a pgn and then import to HCE as that has nicer tools to comment on the games I use Google Gemini instead of Claude to help me create tools
