When my nephew was very young, he wanted to touch the barbecue at a cookout and we said, "no, Nate, you can't touch it, it's hot!" He nodded knowingly and said, "hot. Hot!" Thenceforth, anything scary or possibly dangerous became hot. "Do you want to pet the goat, Nate?" "No! Goat hot."
