I grew up surrounded by the full spectrum of various Ali G types: the Surrey white kid, the black kid who on parents’ evening turned out to have accountant parents, the British Bangladeshi dressing like Dre…all these people now have good white collar jobs.

Keep seeing absolute binfire debates I do not wish to get sucked into, so I am going to post something inarguable and non controversial: The creation of West and South Yorkshire as separate metropolitan counties was a mistake. There should have been a single, more powerful West Riding.
