We didn't "push" NATO to Russia's doorstep. Countries elected to join of their own free will and largely because they had experience with Russia exerting its will against their people and they determined NATO was the best defense against that.

I just do not understand this idea on the far right that Eastern Europe and the Baltics as sovereign nations did not have the right to enter into alliances on their own accord after 1990, particularly a defensive one against their former (and extremely brutal) historical occupier.
