This was how it was when my Dad passed (10+ yrs ago) Surrounded by loved ones, we said what needed to be said. To me that is preferable to sudden deaths (accidents, heart attacks, aneurysms, etc) It's not the same kind of closure for the family. However it happens....life is short. Love your people.
