An interesting paper that analyzes trends in french publications on the Middle Ages using data from RI OPAC! We can confirm this massive increase in publications for other languages. We estimate that since the 2010s ca 60,000 new works/year have been published and the number may now exceed 80,000

A new study based on the bibliographic tool Regesta Imperii Opac, @regestaimperii.bsky.social, which reveals that the international field of medieval history has been growing steadily by about 2.5% a year, doubling every 27.5 years. If you sometimes feel you can't keep up - yep, you can't.
