One idea I had was the user could have a record "i played in this match" and on the game side there's a record saying "[user] won this match". If that's the kind of thing you mean

The model I'm working on has a central service that calculates scores/ratings and publishes them. The user then writes a record that says "look, FIDE rated me 1700". You could also publish "I rated myself 2400", but I'd imagine not many people would care.
