I’m struggling… is this work for me if I have to choose between the job and the jobs of my coworkers and exercising my right to expression? Is being silenced publicly just the price that’s paid to quietly work in this field? I’m not sure I’m capable of staying silent when I see harm & injustice

This is the dilemma - be silent outwardly, never rock the boat / we live in fickle times with sensitive leaders who can’t accept even the most factual criticisms without threatening livelihoods. How can we make change if we’re gagged and told to hushhh?

What’s the point in being a advocate and working in the helping field if your voice is stifled for fear that you might hurt a fragile man in a position of power’s little feelings and that those men will cause funding to be pulled or harm others within your org as retaliation?
