You could be a major contributor to an answer & get no mention or citation. Doing a study right now using grounding data that proves most contributors to AI are getting neither mention or citation in AI results since change to Gemini 3.8 for AI mode. Mentions & citations are unsuitable for AI KPIs!

In Reddit adventures today, I encountered someone who claimed to have a disability that necessitated the use of the Reddit API to reasonably accommodate him. After asking some questions, it turned out that he wanted the use of the Reddit API in order to AUTOMATE PUBLISHING AI GENERATED COMMENTS

the ability to filter a request like "ask search [engine] about [topic]" into the external API of a search engine (or a cached version of it) does not make the LLM a search engine
