As a French person, I confirm. I had friends from North America who often asked me to "say something in French" because it sounded sexy to them, and it always astounded me. But I have the same reaction to Italian 🤷‍♀️

Funny thing I learned is that the sexy stereotype is one the French don't apply to themselves! The self-stereotype of of being cold and grumpy, whereas the Italians and Spanish are off being sexy.

TIL in French there's not a separate word to disambiguate siren (sirène) and mermaid. I'm proud to speak a language that has a particular term for bird-ladies on an island that are trying to fuck you.

I have moved a table slightly and my cats have decided - as they do whenever any piece of furniture moves, however much, that this is now a completely new piece of furniture with no rules associated with it.
