This is a trade-off between a long-term strategy that seems to be working (the fact that the deal is being offered shows that) vs. some short-term operational advantage with greater dependency on a service that's proven to be a liability. I'm not convinced it's a "no brainer" at all.

Reuters reports that the order to restrict Ukraine’s Starshield satellite system came from inside the White House. Ukrainian officials say the restrictions slowed interceptor drones used against Russian attacks. To me, that means the White House now has Ukrainian blood on its hands.
