Finally writing up/editing the photos of this tour from last year. While there are quite a few Soviet nuclear weapons bunkers in East Germany - this one is the only one which still has a good chunck of its internal equipment still intact. Its rare enough that it includes a rare photo of me in it 😜
Show PostSome rather unremarkable Soviet Barracks in Saxony-Anhalt which were meant to hide the much more important command bunker close by. The bunkers been sealed since 2019 and the barracks have turned into a dumping ground. digitalcosmonaut.com/gssd-kaserne...

This piece was originally located on a different building that was torn down in 2010. The new owners of the property decided to save the mosaic and had it restored in 2018 at the cost of roughly €15,000.
