Origami King's story is one I've learned to appreciate more as I get older and I wanted to address some of the criticism it gets from fans of the older games.

She experienced everything she wanted in life AND so much more, and it probably would've been disrespectful to stay alive after her brother finally understood what he did wrong only to die shortly afterwards. She knew what she was doing. Mario knew what she would do and he accepted that.

Olivia's sacrifice has also gotten some mixed reactions. It may be somewhat cliche at this point, though that's nothing new for this series tbh (just look at every classic game final boss). I think it all makes sense with the context of the entire game up to that point and isn't forced at all imo.

rather childish imo, and so is his generalization of toads. So many people act like this was the dev team making fun of the fanbase, but I think that's a very unfair claim.

King Olly's "maturity" is noticeably forced. He's young but wants to appear tougher. It also explains why he goes as far as he does when he sees the writing on him. Obv a real child wouldn't do as much damage as Olly. But the petty reaction to what he hadn't realized was actually a sweet message is
