Show PostHuge congratulations to @malaikasb.bsky.social on the publication of this paper. It was such a pleasure to see this research take shape and see the function of these giants put to the test, and the potential symbolic impact of the objects explored. #PaPa @uclarchaeology.bsky.social 🏺🦣
Show PostCheck it, nerds. Recent find of late stage Maglemosian (8400 BP) antler axe with preserved wooden handle from Egholm, Northern Jutland. Fantastic to see that we still have conditions in Denmark for such fantastic organic preservation. Because it probably won’t be long before we don’t.
Show PostInteresting little heated stone arrangement with lots of charcoal and limpets very low in the stratigraphy of Priory Midden. Just the stuff they found at Cnoc Coig but the previous dig stopped 5 cm short of it. Whoops! Excavated by the amazing @hugowhymark.bsky.social 🏺
Show PostExcited to be presenting the results of my (now submitted) #PhD at @highlandhet.bsky.social conference on Saturday, exploring the relationship between people and #reddeer in Highlands of #Scotland and how it changed over time. @uhiarchaeology.bsky.social #Archaeology #Zooarchaeology #Prehistory
