Met Office analysis shows the cyclone reaching 931 hPa at 12 UTC yesterday, but the real minimum pressure was probably a few hPa lower. Iceland apparently measured a new minimum pressure record for October: trj.blog.is/blog/trj/ (waiting for official confirmation)
Show PostMassive and exceptionally strong mid-latitude cyclone is currently approaching Iceland. Minimum pressure at the centre of the storm may reach sub-930 hPa readings which could be one of the lowest, if not the lowest on record for October in the North Atlantic.
