People in the replies are ably demonstrating my point by writing “deanthropomorphized” descriptions of the Hugging Face attack that are oblique, evasive, obviously politicized, and ignore the actual details that would help a reader understand what happened. It’s just bad, unclear writing.

I asked people to summarize the Hugging Face attack without using anthropomorphizing language, and the answers ranged from weirdly oblique about why anything happened, to outright incomprehensible. I think this neatly illustrates the problem.

1/2 As a licence fee payer, I wish the BBC experimented with more innovative economic framing. What is the North/South divide costing the UK in terms of ill-health, poverty, & lost economic activity? What is the housing crisis costing? What about the social care crisis? We need to know this stuff.

If you have someone handcuffed & contained with five police officers all sitting/punching on you & they say they can't breathe & you continue to punch and put your knee on his neck don't be surprised when he dies... THAT'S MURDER! Didn't we learn anything from the George Floyd murder?
