Didn’t get this as a pithy quote into the interview, but IMHO the split in sidewalk attitudes is between A) suburban street homeowners who take pride in nicely cleared sidewalks on their street — but otherwise have a windshield perspective, and B) everyone else, who sees how bad it is overall

When I see "Waymo saves lives" op-eds, I always do a quick search to see what the author has written extolling protected bike lanes. Or automatic speed cameras. Or road diets. The results are always the same: Nope. Nada. Zilch.
