So excited about this! First two swatches came in, I’m waiting on two more goldish taffeta swatches, but this blue dupioni is a probable yes (may check options again) to make Philippe, Duc d’Orléans’ wrapping gown from #Versailles season 2, episode 2. This gold is too dark, though, I think.

Ok I have photo’d the swatches in sunlight & with the gold taffeta swatch that will be the lining. And I’m back at the drawing board. I’ve ordered 2 more swatches (see replies), the last of the possibilities. But these are the current three contenders vs better images I captured of lovely Philippe.

Comparing these three swatches in different lighting/angles to dear, lovely Philippe’s dressing gown, are we agreed that the light blue on the far left is the best option? Should I check in sunlight also? (Also, there are plans afoot — heh — to make those slippers, too……👀)
