The fact that they're foreign owned means that they are borrowing money to pay dividends which effectively go straight out of the country to help another government/people, while they then plead for water rate increases here & we pay for it. It's the opposite of capitalism because we have no choice

A 'quirk' of nationalisation is that some of these overseas owners are themselves nationalised - eg EDF or Trenitalia - so the Tories created a crazy situation where profits are exported to help subsidise overseas State operators rather than having our own nationalised operators benefitting the UK.
