The "old" Finnish strategy would've been very costly, our own losses would have mounted high but most probably we would've been able to fight them to actual standstill in the end. IMO: The weak point would've been: what then? Trade southeastern corner of Finland for peace, for how long a peace??

I guess your policy is similar to Swiss policy, make it very unappetising to attempt in the first place. However, you explained well why your location is strategically important. Now that you are part of NATO, if it continues to exist, that makes it less appealing.

Nato gives us now potential for air superiority, option to fight from Swedish air bases and landing strips. Plus subs, plus satellite intelligence, plus ammo and other material - missiles and fighter parts for extended fight. Plus MAD to at least have the enemy to reconsider use of tactical nukes.
