We recently visited the site and spotted the bats ourselves—confirming they’re slit-faced bats (Nycteris sp.). Some great footage captured by Kuti Wildlife Reserve! 🦇🦔 #Wildlife #Bats #CameraTrap #Coexistence #Malawi #Nature
Show PostStraw-coloured fruit bats emerging at dusk! 🦇 My team at @africanbatcon.bsky.social and Land & Lake Safaris hosted a bat walk in Lilongwe on Friday, where we were joined by around 80 people. Great to see so much interest in bats! #conservation #bats #nature #lilongwe #malawi #fruitbats #wildlife

Art. But also "bat snacks". Delicious. And beautiful.

here is your reminder that bats are very important pollinators, as much as bees, and there are many species of fruit who rely on them solely for pollination 🙂

A new species for me this year, today's #DailyBat pic is the Northern bat (Eptesicus nilssonii). Cute. Squeaky. Tough. These are found above the arctic circle! She was the first I ever held, caught on Valsorarna, Finland this summer as part of the Kvarken Bats project. I'm obsessed. 😍 🦇
