On a different but related topic, why would anyone chose to go to medical school and become a doctor, only to get a job pushing papers at a health insurance company?

My doctor told me she could only address one health issue per visit. If you have a couple of things to discuss, you schedule more visits. The more, the better. Thyroid tests will no longer be covered. I think docs feel as helpless as the patient. Corps want our money and then hurry up and die.

100%. Why we don't have "fire insurance," and instead firefighting is paid for by taxes: it's a public good for houses to not burn to the ground if the owners can't afford insurance. The fact that our *bodies* aren't treated as important as *property* says everything I need to know about capitalism.
