it's not advocacy journalism to give your readers the proper context to judge the words of your sources. it used to be a basic function that all journalists were supposed to practice and it is just not there consistently from Times news reporters covering trans issues.
Show Postover and over again, outright paid anti-trans activists are quoted in the Times as "concerned parents" or "concerned doctors". these are people who are paid to advocate against trans rights, and they are constantly white-washed by NYT news reporters.
