And let me be clear, I understand the concern of performative actions and wanting more to be done. I’m just saying, figure out how to make those things clear without discouraging the actions going on right now. Do what you can until you can do more. 4/4

I understand and agree more action is needed but I words matter and saying something won’t work cause it’s only a day can discourage someone who’s looking for a place to start. “break stuff” sounds straight forward but collective action only works when people are ready to act as a collective. 3/4

The country is huge and very individualized. Along with that and simple comforts it’s not as easy to organize like it is in other countries. Doing these things together builds community and when people see it they become encouraged to join in. I’ve seen these movements and push back grow. 2/4

You do what you can until you can do more. Every time there’s some form of protest whether it’s marching or refusing to spend money for a day I see pushback from people who say it’s ineffective or performative. And maybe it is in some ways, but it’s also a starting point for more. 1/4
