(Most) NZ’ers take this for granted, but from perspective of someone who has only ever known democratic deficit, backsliding, & decay - this is v. special, and so wonderful. There’s something sacred about elections, & exercise of franchise only those who have suffered loss of both appreciate. #nzpol
