what's nintendo been doing this entire time? i never see them in the news for not knowing how to not layoff entire teams every few years, is it underreported?

it's possible I haven't heard enough about it but I still don't think "outsource to inexpensive overseas contractors" and "lay everybody off after each individual game is made" are the only available options, it seems incredibly short-sighted and bad for anyone not at the very top

sounds like a false dichotomy unless someone can explain why the games industry is suddenly acting like "what do we do with the people we hire after we hire them" is some never-before-seen operational dilemma
