@tchamberlain.bsky.socialMedial PFC interacts with the hippocampus to retrieve context-congruent memories.. but HOW?? was what started this. Simulating mPFC-HIP🧠, we designed an RNN🤖 that retrieves memories similar in context, on top of self-attention. It learns to retrieve like humans faster! arxiv.org/abs/2609.37791
Show PostNew preprint w/@jzacks.bsky.social and @adibuoy23.bsky.social What determines where we look as the world unfolds? In highly controlled experiments, gaze is shaped by both low-level perceptual features and higher-level semantic information. How can we pull them apart in naturalistic behavior? 🧵
Show PostFinally out in @JOCN_Journal. We had hoped to inhibit the amygdala using transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) as a proof-of-concept that the amygdala is causally involved in emotional episodic memory encoding, but this backfired…1/10 direct.mit.edu/jocn/article...

Show PostA *super* exciting new paper from @lizsiefert.bsky.social!! Human hippocampal ripple rates track very closely with several indicators of low arousal, during both sleep and wake. This is probably the most compelling data I have ever been associated with.
