Had to looked it up and watch it, at least the best quality I could find. Im a little bit conflicted. Given that if Im about the B plot here, as someone who's worked at anime conventions since the original A-kon, I have seen this happen alot and it's usually Cis men. But I wouldn't be surprised tbh.

I feel the joke is more about awkward con interactions with that one person who doesn't understand personal space/consent. I think anyone who frequents cons has seen or at least knows someone who's had that interaction. One of the MCs is also cross playing and he's not really made fun of.
