Not sure if this makes me more or less deserving of sympathy, but tiger sharks have definitely vomited grosser things than that on me.
Show PostA tiger shark once threw up a partially digested pig’s foot on me. We thought that was pretty weird, but it got weirder when we also found pig DNA in samples of tiger shark poop. Turns out crab fishermen use it as bait (and dump the leftovers when emptying their traps).

Final count- my class got to catch, tag, measure, sample, and release 7 sharks of 5 species! Today we got to see a great hammerhead! Fair winds and a following sea to another great group of students. I’ll be running this class again in the fall!
