OK I'm in the UK and fairly broke BUT for Halloween I've invited friends round for a murder mystery- One person is making pumpkin soup, another dessert and I am making the main course... it's fun and relatively affordable. 🤷♂️

I think if you're single/work from home/single+wfh, then hosting is not appealing - you want out, to be somewhere else, + preferably somewhere with lots of folk. I was pretty much single all thru my 30s in the late 90s-early noughties. I think I 'hosted' twice!
