3:55p: Radar shows storms rolling through northern parts of DC region. A line gathering out west, now moving east into Fauquier and Loudoun co, has its eyes on Beltway area approx 5-7pm. Already some warnings for damaging winds (yellow boxes). Hail possible too.

Not much change to the low end threat of severe storms Saturday night. Just some tweaking of graphics. Bottom line is about a 5% chance of severe weather occurring within 25 miles of you Saturday night/Sunday morning.

First storm of the day. If it holds together, it'll be to Fairview in a couple of hours. This may be the first of several. Damaging straight line winds possible and a spin up tornado or two. Watches and warnings possible. Stay connected this evening.

Expect storms to become more numerous along and mainly S of I-40 over the next couple of hours. Primary threat is damaging-straight line winds. Can't rule out some large hail or a brief tornado. But, the wind threat is primary. Have a lightning/severe weather plan if you're out at football fields.
