We also found that the constitutive overexpression of Lamin Dm0 elicits the opposite effects of the knockdown: a dramatic increase in macrophage phagocytic capacity: much larger vacuoles that are prone to fusion!
Show PostOur data suggests that, in vivo, the nucleus senses indenting phagosomes and triggers an increase in Lamin B levels. We propose that this increase prompts the LINC complex harness the macrophage phagocytic behaviour to ultimately control their capacity.
