Fountain-pen friends: I just got my first new fountain pen in years, and I love it! But I'm also remembering that using a fountain pen means having to adjust the paper/pads I use to account for different levels of ink absorption. Any advice on that process, or is it just a matter of trial and error?

I see no reason to believe these settings have any effect, but they're worth trying. I'm reminded of this little image I made some years ago.
