And that nervousness makes him mad. He doesn’t want to care about this loud obnoxious thing that wormed their way into his life. But as he becomes Poob’s protector that relationship starts to build whether he likes it or not. And he can tell when it starts to get back but what can he do

And then we can get into the moments when it finally IS quiet and the mask finally does slip and it’s brutal. The substances aren’t numbing everything and it all comes spilling out and Poob hopes they’re alone when it happens because it’s messy and destructive and it takes a lot to get them back

And they go missing for a few days but it’s okay because they’re just party planning! That’s all that’s all and it’s an endless cycle and maybe pest sees right through them. Maybe it takes a while for him to care. Maybe when the elevator is quiet without them in it he starts to get nervous.

And Poob and pest are so much more alike than pest wants to admit. Keeping busy keeping busy always busy as a distraction from what they don’t want to think about. Pest is too busy, Poob can’t handle it. They don’t want to, because admitting their fate means acknowledging the inevitable
