they both clearly see her (and themselves) as better than most people, special, insiders, people who understand power, people who think "outside the box" and reject the petty norms and limited vision of regular people. something different than typical human, iow. in that sense i agree with them!

what we end up confronted with then is the possibility that our desire to understand someone's subjective reality can cause us to lose our ability to discern objective reality itself. all the more so if that person is a pathological liar, a post-truth human; suddenly you have to choose, cant do both
