Soldiering, real soldiering, is incredibly dangerous even in peacetime. What makes Canada’s little Army so good is that it trains as it fights, with large scale, combined arms exercises using live ammunition. Such training is tightly controlled, with multiple safety layers. But nothing is perfect

We haven’t won decisively because we assume that tactical military successes will naturally compound to generate strategic success But that assumption is not unique to this administration, it’s a pervasive & bipartisan pathology across the US NatSec enterprise 😑
