I do think it's super weird how many people are basically unwilling to admit that the most parsimonious explanation for an 18-year-old high schooler getting entangled in a massive fraud with a 37-year old millionaire is definitely not "she's a world-class master of deception"

I have NEVER had a competent pitch from anything that didn't turn out to be a human. I get emails daily that are absolute word salad. The only thing it has done is make it even more important that if you ARE human you take the time to write a proper pitch.

Well if someone is sneaking competent pitches past me then this doesn't apply to them? The thread is literally about how we get endless emails of slavish creepy zombie praise for bookclubs that are almost always clearly fake describing our books in ways that make no sense.

It's too depressing and obnoxious to write about, but virtually all of the doomy/horny AI hyperventilating is transparently displaced anxiety about our fucked climate and political situation. Even rich idiots know it's bad and being permitted to get worse. They're trying to write their own ending.
