The fact that they never speak this way about Trumps extremely well documented and extensive misogyny gives away the game that they dont actually care about this at all and instead saw an opening to try and help boost one of their Republican besties who looks like theyre gonna lose

he didnt do that. he handled the guy with kid gloves. the closest he got is when he said "everyone knows why you're asking that" and then tried to get him to understand racism by invoking jfk, which the guy completely disregarded because he is a christian nationalist.

I think it helped that he showed his work. Just calling that guy racist or islamophobic or whatever would've been accurate but he explained what that means in this context and why it's bad. Even for things that seem self evident it's good to do that in political communication

This argument is based on a factual error. It's true that the LAPD is smaller than the Berlin PD, but LA is also patrolled by the California Highway Patrol and LA County Sheriff's Department, forces with thousands of officers. Also, Berlin is a city-state so its agency is large for its population.
