Same with me. Be separated for a yr, no sex & he contested. And after actively going back to Maryland court for TWO years trying(!) to get it, it wasn't granted until I burst out crying in a judge's office, and my ex saying "ok ok give it to her". I tell people, do not get married in Maryland.
