Yeah. As I tried to say. I did quite enjoy it. But they should explain how ancestry plays out when you go back that many generations.

I remember looking into this after Alexander Armstrong and Danny Dyer were both related to William the Conqueror. As far as I can work it out it not much shy of 33,000 ancestors just at that one level of generations ago. Minorly ridiculous but still interesting.

Just saw Josh Widdicombe on Who do you Think You Are. He seems like a nice enough chap, and the history was quite interesting, but it's all twaddle-bollocks isn't it? I mean, if he's a descendant of someone 15 generations back, so is everyone alive today with British ancestry.

Actually, I did the maths in my head a bit wrong there (I've had a long day). So you'd have to go back a bit further to guarantee that we all have exactly the same ancestors as Josh W, but there are certainly huge numbers of us who share his interesting ancestors.
