Here are the effects of the X5.1 flare on our ionosphere. This plot shows which areas may have radio signal disruptions. The sunlit side of Earth saw a radio blackout during the flare, and the polar regions are now experiencing some disruptions due to the radiation storm.

Here is a preliminary model produced by NASA for the X5.1 CME. It's a flank hit with the bulk of the CME heading north, but Earth may see an impact sometime around Nov 12 at 18 UT. This is the third large CME heading to Earth, so we may see G3-G4 conditions now. Stay tuned...

a first look at this material teaches us that besides herring there are also remains of cod, eel, flatfish and carp. Of course this is only a first impression and further research will provide more clarity in the species distribution but also the processing of the fish.

I just got other material from a site in Enkhuizen where mainly herring is present. Note that this is a site where a fisherman lived (based on archive research) and where possibly a fish smokehouse was located.
