the thing is though even if I had an autism diagnosis as a kid my parents wouldn't have treated me much different. they'd still act like it was something that could be overcome with meditation and hard work
Show Postmeanwhile autism was treated like something that you have to deal with forever and a lot of the issues I deal with will last forever. plus I genuinely did have learning disorders growing up
Show PostI get it though because labels like "introvert" "depression"or "social anxiety" don't feel meaningful because they don't explain the depths of our issues. as a kid those things were treated like pesky little mind viruses that could be cured with meditation and hard work
