The one nice thing is (mostly) price lock in. My mortgage won't go up (except for the part about the taxes) while rents usually do. Maybe I'll break even in a decade!
Show PostI finally bought a house after 20 years of people telling me to. Yup, like 80% of my mortgage is going to interest (currently), my insurance is higher (covering the cost of the property), and all the maintenance is on me. You run the numbers and renting v buying isn't that clear as a cost.
