Show PostFrench riots might ostensibly be good news for Marine Le Pen and RN. But possible there might be a serious backlash vs LFI and Melenchon, which in turn puts a centrist into final two, and thus hurts Le Pen. Political implications of riots are complex.
Show PostAlso a reminder that the state election results that were so catastrophic in 2018 that Merkel was compelled to step down as CDU party chair was a 27% showing in Hessen. Compare this to recent results for the CDU under Merz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern where the party was eliminated entirely.
