wonders idly whether Hindi/Urdu "āndolan" — movement, oscillation — is etymologically related to English "undulate" via their Sanskrit/Latin roots, or whether it's merely a false friend. It's one of my favourite Hindi/Urdu words. So elegant, but also powerful in its political sense.

Ah such a shame. King & Conqueror is no patch on the Alfred series of The Last Kingdom. It’s too modern. Too much exposition. Too little understanding of the real cultural and social history and zero feeling for religion. And god the diagetic music is annoying. Definitely still watching!
