NISUS AND EURYALUS, sculpted by Jean-Baptiste Roman in 1827, captures the tragic end of two Trojan warriors bound by intense love and devotion for one another. Nisus holds the hand of the mortally wounded Euryalus as he succumbs to his own fatal wound, dying upon Euryalus’ lifeless body.
